Serbia joined the Arms Trade Treaty on 12 August. It was signed by H.E. Mr. Milan Milanović, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Serbia.

Vuc Jeremić , the out-going General Assembly President and a former Serbia Foreign Minister presided over the session in which the Treaty was adopted by a vote on 2 April. At the time, he had calling the treaty “groundbreaking” and remarked that, “The final text is, in my view, robust and actionable.”

Serbia’s signature brings the total count to 84. Assistance, Advocacy, Access, a Control Arms member based in Belgrade congratulated their government and expressed their pleasure at this step forward.
