Esta reuni\u00f3n sobre \u00abPromover la Universalizaci\u00f3n y el Fortalecimiento de la Implementaci\u00f3n del Tratado sobre el Comercio de Armas en el Sur de Asia\u201d reuni\u00f3 a representantes gubernamentales, parlamentarios y la sociedad civil de Afganist\u00e1n, Bangladesh, Bhut\u00e1n, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka y Pakist\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-27324 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/controlarms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Picture1-e1529077384297.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"256\" height=\"158\" srcset=\"https:\/\/controlarms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Picture1-e1529077384297.png 498w, https:\/\/controlarms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Picture1-e1529077384297-300x185.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 256px) 100vw, 256px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Buscando promover la universalizaci\u00f3n y fortalecer la implementaci\u00f3n del TCA en la regi\u00f3n, la reuni\u00f3n alent\u00f3 el intercambio de informaci\u00f3n y mejores pr\u00e1cticas para profundizar el conocimiento del TCA entre los representantes del gobierno y la sociedad civil, creando una plataforma donde los diferentes partes interesados podr\u00edan discutir el TCA y discutir desaf\u00edos espec\u00edficos de la regi\u00f3n. Los participantes examinaron la preocupaci\u00f3n sobre las fronteras porosas, el desequilibrio dentro del TCA, la falta de capacidad y experiencia, la necesidad de asistencia financiera y t\u00e9cnica, los pa\u00edses de tr\u00e1nsito convirti\u00e9ndose en usuarios finales y la necesidad de una coalici\u00f3n regional fuerte para mantener el impulso en torno al TCA.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-27325 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/controlarms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Picture1-1-e1529077448848.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"326\" height=\"181\" srcset=\"https:\/\/controlarms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Picture1-1-e1529077448848.png 966w, https:\/\/controlarms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Picture1-1-e1529077448848-300x167.png 300w, https:\/\/controlarms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Picture1-1-e1529077448848-768x428.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 326px) 100vw, 326px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>La mesa redonda concluy\u00f3 con la adopci\u00f3n de un documento final que estableci\u00f3 una hoja de ruta para fortalecer los esfuerzos de ratificaci\u00f3n, adhesi\u00f3n e implementaci\u00f3n, identific\u00f3 \u00e1reas clave en las que es necesaria la creaci\u00f3n de capacidades e inici\u00f3 el establecimiento de una Coalici\u00f3n Regional de Asia del Sur. Esta reuni\u00f3n sobre \u00abPromover la Universalizaci\u00f3n y [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"on","_et_pb_old_content":"<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">17-18 May, 2018 | Nepal<\/span>\r\n\r\n<img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-27323 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/controlarms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/IMG_1135-2-e1529077762690.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"4925\" height=\"2123\" \/>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An interactive and well-received 2-day roundtable meeting was organized by Control Arms and Women for Peace &amp; Democracy - Nepal (WPD-Nepal) with funding support from New Zealand in Kathmandu, Nepal on 17-18 May 2018. \u00a0This meeting on \u201cPromoting Universalization and Strengthening Implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty in South Asia\u201d brought together government representatives, parliamentarians and civil society from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<img class=\"wp-image-27324 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/controlarms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Picture1-e1529077384297.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"256\" height=\"158\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Seeking to advance the universalization and strengthen the implementation of the ATT in the region, the meeting encouraged \u00a0information sharing and best practices to deepen the knowledge of the ATT among government representatives and civil society, creating a platform where different stakeholders could discuss the ATT and discuss region-specific challenges. Participants examined the concern over porous borders, imbalance within the ATT, lack of capacity and expertise, the necessity of financial and technical assistance, transit countries becoming end-users, and the need for a strong, regional coalition to maintain momentum around the \u00a0ATT.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><img class=\"wp-image-27325 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/controlarms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Picture1-1-e1529077448848.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"326\" height=\"181\" \/>The roundtable concluded with the adoption of \u00a0an outcome document that laid out a roadmap towards strengthening ratification, accession, and implementation efforts, identified key areas where capacity building is necessary, and initiated the establishment of a South Asia Regional Coalition.
