A Short Film About GUNS is now being screened as part of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF) in New York. Featuring four arms trafficking experts who recount their first hand experiences with the arms trade, the short film was produced to shed some light on an industry that generates over $60 billion annually. The screenings at Tribeca comes as the long-awaited diplomatic talks on the Arms Trade Treaty were being negotiated at the United Nations last month and finally agreed on April 2 at the UN General Assembly. The Treaty will be open for signature on June 3rd.
The film has also been chosen screened in the ‘History Lessons’ shorts program and has also been selected to be one of 4 shorts in the new TFF Online Competition. TFF screening allows the film to be eligible for Academy Award nomination.
