Governments can do more to stop this.
From 20-24 August 2018 top diplomats from over 100 governments will be attending the fourth Conference of States Parties to the Arms Trade Treaty in Tokyo. The Treaty is the first to regulate the $100bn global arms trade, requiring governments to assess the risk of violations of international human rights and humanitarian law before they authorize an arms deal. This year, Japan is the President and host of the Treaty talks.
To raise public awareness and urge governments to make the right decisions at the fourth Conference of States Parties scheduled to take place in Tokyo on 20 – 24 August, Control Arms campaigners from all regions of the world are demanding world leaders take action and stop weapons from ending up in the hands of those that use them to abuse and repress people all across the globe.
